Super Fast and Easy Instant Pot Apple Sauce

This Instant Pot Apple Sauce recipe can be made in as little as 5 minutes with the right equipment. The Instant Pot adds such simplicity to my life I feel like I can make quality meals and snacks every single day of the week. Not to mention save a ton of money. This recipe is perfect for snacks, breakfast , and even alongside dinner.

Bulk Buying Apples/Food

I like to shop in bulk because there are huge savings when you buy wholesale. Costco and Sam’s club are the go to spot for most people including myself, but you can also find wholesale prices all over the internet and also in special locales. There are many reasons to buy wholesale. Savings, buying less frequently, and access just to name a few, but my personal favorite is the variety! My favorite spot to go whenever I’m in San Diego is the Specialty Produce Store. If you haven’t been you are truly missing out on the wonders of the world. Here, you can find so many varieties of fruit, legumes and vegetables from all over the globe! From white strawberries, Pink-Glow Pineapples, to my personal favorite, the Japanese Black Apple(also known as the Black Diamond Apple) you can find anything here. I have found with my recent travels that you can find tantalizing flavors anywhere if you just do a little research. Check out the Specialty Produce Store website. Using the Whole Apple

When I make applesauce I rarely peel the skins. It’s way to time consuming. Especially when you are making a large amount for canning or a big family. Sure if you have a restaurant sized apple peeler and corer it wouldn’t be so daunting of a task, but I have a small veggie peeler and I’m not looking for blisters.

Keeping the skins on for applesauce can add a subtle flavor you wouldn’t traditionally get from store bought products. It is subtle so you can hardly notice, but the added fiber can add health benefits you wouldn’t receive otherwise. Changing the type of apple will also change the flavor profile. There are 2500 different varieties grown in the United States and around 7500 worldwide. So take your pick!

Instant Pot Apple Sauce

Course Appetizer, Breakfast, Dinner,, Snack

Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 5 minutes

Equipment

  • 1 Pressure Cooker

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp Butter or Ghee
  • 2 Tbsp Sugar Cane
  • 8 Apples Sliced
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick
  • 1/4 Cup Water

Instructions

  • Wash and slice apples and place in instant pot.
  • Add remaining ingredients and Set Instant Pot to seal.
  • On high pressure cook apples for 5 minutes. Once time has expired, let pot naturally release for 2 minutes. Cover release with a kitchen towel and let remainder of the steam out.
  • Serve warm or let cool to room temperature , refrigerate for 30 minutes and serve cold. Enjoy!
