All Natural Ginger and Rosemary Cough Syrup

Colds/ Flu and Coughs

Now that the weather is changing and the heat is dissipating, I like to make sure that I plan ahead for the inevitable colds and coughs that come along with cooler weather. Luckily, in this day and age, we have an abundance of options when it comes to over the counter medicines. From the traditional robitussin to the likes of nyquil. There are also so many ” herbal medicines” that taught themselves as all natural. Checking the nutritional facts seems to contradicts those claims but I digress. I like to make sure that I keep all harmful chemicals and ingredients out of my childrens systems as much as I can manage and I do this by making all my basic medicines from scratch and from home.

Seeing as we just moved into our forever home( we have moved quite a bit for Hubby’s work) I now can cultivate the best garden and plant recurring herbs that I will use year after year for the well being of my family. Rosemary is the first herb that we have grown as we continue to landscape the backyard and we have it in abundance.

Made with love

I chose to make this medicine not just because it is plentiful, but because it is the best for the respiratory tract. Seeing as Covid is lingering despite the announcement that it is over, we can all utilize the benefits of mother nature in all of her natural glory when new strains and inevitably new diseases arise.

Ingredients

When making medicine I try to use exclusively organic ingredients. I find it counterintuitive to make a healing concoction and not source the best of the best. So if at all possible, Get locally grown items that take pride and care into what they provide.

Rosemary and honey have an anti-bacterial component. Rosemary also can relieve fevers. The ginger is anti-inflammatory. All of these can soothe an achy chest, stifle the driest of coughs and boost the immune system.
